Dr Edetanlen Benlance Ekaniyere graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in the University of Benin, 2000. He obtained a Fellowship degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2011 from the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS). He also obtained Master of Anatomy (MSc) degree in University of Benin in 2021. He is currently undergoing Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme in Department of Anatomy, University of Benin, with Thesis titled” Morphologic and histomorphometric analysis of the effect of Azadiracta Indica leaf extract on monosodium iodoacetate induced temporomandibular joint athritis in adult Wistar rats”
His areas of specialty are Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma, Oral and Maxillofacial Infection and Oral and Maxillofacial Toxicology. He has supervised four postgraduate students, two each in West African college of Surgeons and National Postgraduate Medical College
He has attended several local, national and international conferences. He has over sixty publications in local, national and international journals.
